There's something captivating about Amazonite's blue-green colour. Like holding a piece of the ocean, this calming stone has been treasured for thousands of years as the Stone of Courage and Truth.

What is Amazonite?

Amazonite is a variety of microcline feldspar with stunning turquoise to deep blue-green tones, often streaked with milky white. Despite its name, it's found in Colorado, Brazil, Madagascar, and Russia rather than near the Amazon River. At 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale, it's durable for everyday wear but needs some care.

The History Behind Amazonite

Ancient Egyptians adored Amazonite. King Tutankhamun was buried with an Amazonite scarab ring, and the stone appeared throughout Egyptian jewellery and amulets. Ancient Indian and Mesopotamian cultures also valued it for protective talismans and decorative pieces.

Amazonite's Qualities

Often called the Stone of Hope and Truth, Amazonite is traditionally associated with honest communication and emotional calm.

Many people find it helps with:

  • Calming anxiety and soothing stress
  • Speaking your truth with confidence
  • Balancing emotions during tough times
  • Setting healthy boundaries
  • Creating harmony in relationships

It's believed to work with both the heart and throat chakras, helping balance logical thinking with intuitive feelings.
